"A definite 5-star recommendation! The hotel's location is superb, just a stone's throw from Taiyuan Street and a short walk from the subway station, making transportation incredibly convenient. All your dining and shopping needs are easily met nearby. The hotel service truly deserves full praise. A big thank you to the staff working on the afternoon of August 16th, especially a lady at the front desk – my apologies for not remembering your name. The hotel breakfast offers an incredibly rich and varied spread, with authentic flavors that are both visually appealing and delicious. The gym is spacious, bright, and well-equipped. The room facilities are luxurious. Although they show slight signs of age, this in no way diminishes their luxury or functionality. However, I would suggest the hotel implements a more thorough and regular cleaning schedule for some of the sofa upholstery. Additionally, the room layout could be further optimized. For example, regarding bed placement in family suites: while I understand the current design philosophy, I recommend reconfiguring some rooms to place both the large and small beds in the bedroom, thereby restoring the living room function. Furthermore, the food and service at the Tang Palace restaurant on the 6th floor are also excellent. Beyond a 5-star recommendation – this is my top choice when visiting Shenyang!"

"I'm a local from Shenyang, and for Qixi Festival, I wanted to try something different. This time, I booked a Horizon Club Garden View Room at Shangri-La. The view was fantastic, and in the evening, I could even take a stroll in Youth Park downstairs. The hotel's location is excellent; it connects directly to Kerry Centre Shopping Mall and MixC City underground, making shopping 🛍️ and dining incredibly convenient. **Ambiance:** Shangri-La has a classic, slightly dated feel in its traditional Chinese decor, but it still exudes a stately and comfortable elegance. **Cleanliness:** Spotlessly clean and tidy. I didn't find any neglected spots in the room. **Facilities:** While the in-room facilities are a bit dated, the bedding, in particular, was uncomfortable for me. The standard pillows were very soft, and the mattress was also quite soft, which didn't provide enough support for a comfortable sleep. This can be easily resolved by requesting latex or buckwheat pillows from the front desk, or asking to remove the feather topper from the mattress. (I personally prefer a combination of firm and soft elements for bedding.) Overall, it was acceptable. The hotel's swimming pool is heated. I had researched it before checking in, so I brought my swimsuit. It wasn't crowded, the water was very clean, and the lifeguard was constantly by the poolside, very dedicated. My partner and I swam 30 laps on the day we checked in – it was fantastic. **Service:** The service was incredibly attentive. I arrived before 1 PM, and since there was a vacant room, they arranged for me to check in immediately. Although it was a connecting room, it was very quiet at night and didn't disturb my sleep. However, if available, I would still try to avoid connecting rooms. Since I booked an executive floor room, I had access to the 30th-floor executive lounge. I'm not an elite member, but the overall service and hospitality were excellent and thoughtful. They offer soft drinks and snacks throughout the day. The afternoon tea is simple, with soft drinks and some light bites, but sitting by the window on the 30th floor with its expansive view and relaxing is a truly pleasant experience. The evening Happy Hour can also be quite satisfying if your expectations aren't too high, offering hot and cold dishes, along with alcoholic beverages. Now for the highlight: the Horizon Club breakfast was truly something to look forward to! The à la carte menu offered high-quality dishes, and as a foodie, I was absolutely delighted. It's more distinctive than a standard five-star breakfast. I would definitely return just for this breakfast!"

All sorts of Shenyang's signature snacks like Laobian Dumplings, Ma Jia Shaomai, and Xita Cold Noodles, plus trendy milk tea shops and fashion boutiques, are all clustered here. You could explore and eat all day without repeating. If you want to visit the Imperial Palace or Zhangshi Shuai Mansion, it's super convenient too, about a ten-minute walk away. No need to squeeze onto the subway or hail a taxi, saving so much time and energy. For tourists like us who want to see many sights, this location is just incredibly perfect! Then there's the hotel itself. The moment I stepped into the lobby, it felt so bright and spacious. The marble floor was sparkling clean, and the front desk lady spoke so gently and warmly. Check-in was super fast, and she even enthusiastically chatted with me about where to have fun in Shenyang and which snacks were most authentic, just like a kind older sister. I booked a king-sized room, and I was genuinely surprised when I opened the door – the room was much larger than I expected, and the lighting was excellent. When I pulled back the curtains, the lively streetscape of Zhongjie was right before my eyes. Seeing the neon lights flicker at night, the atmosphere was completely captivating. The details in the room also really impressed me. The bedding was so soft, lying on it felt like sinking into a cloud, and all the fatigue from traveling instantly disappeared. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the hot water came super quickly, and the shower had great water pressure – taking a hot shower was incredibly comfortable! "We arrived around noon, and as we had elders and children with us, we planned to quickly park at the hotel entrance and grab a bite. However, we were told parking at the entrance required a fee. Since it was too hot to park outside, we opted for the lobby entrance, which, along with the basement, also charged 10 yuan an hour. We parked for about 75 minutes while we ate and ended up paying 20 yuan. The lobby being on the 10th floor was incredibly inconvenient. The elevators were always crowded and slow, which was really annoying. The restaurant's food was very mediocre. Many guests were constantly sneezing over the food without covering their mouths, which was truly disgusting. I also couldn't understand why a five-star hotel would use plastic cutlery; it was worse than a three-star hotel's restaurant. The bread was also very stale. We stayed in a suite. There was a musty smell when sitting on the sofa, and the hygiene was just average, perhaps due to its age. Many people find it luxurious, but personally, I thought it was tacky. The shower only had an overhead rain shower, with no handheld option, which was very inconvenient for the elderly, though fine for younger people. I also found it quite intrusive that hotel staff came to clean our room so early in the morning. The hotel shares an underground parking lot with the Marriott. If you park on the Marriott side, you have to take the stairs up to the lobby. Plus, the parking lot was crowded and dirty. So, driving here is really inconvenient. Perhaps staying at the Marriott or the nearby Hilton would be better. However, I must acknowledge that the staff were quite good. They were helpful in resolving issues and had excellent attitudes."
